Cassie

Cassie has years of experience in facilitating workshops for children from ages five and upwards and has mentored classes in a wide range of areas including reading and comprehension, creative writing and storytelling, drawing and sculpture, book clubs and more. She loves teaching kids the limitlessness of the imagination, helping them explore the world and problem-solve through narratives and art, and fostering in them a love for all things creative. She believes strongly in the healing abilities of art in all its forms and is an advocate for providing safe, inclusive spaces for all that allows them to navigate through their emotions in gentle, proactive ways.

A published writer and artist, she has undertaken short courses in creative writing and character development and is currently in the process of completing a diploma in counselling. Her studies align with what she is most passionate about in life; creativity and psychology. She has also completed a short course in Australian Sign Language (ASL) to help further her endeavour in ensuring an inclusive space within her work.

She has worked with and lived alongside people from many walks of life, having the privilege of getting to know them and their stories. She loves being able to learn about people and their personal journeys and is humbled to be provided with such insights into the beautiful, varied worlds of every unique individual.

Cassie has also always been an animal lover, born into a family of humans and creatures alike. She grew up surrounded by all manner of pets, from dogs, cats, rabbits and Guinea pigs, to quails, turtles, hermit crabs and mice. These days, she has two beautiful dogs with whom she lives a mostly harmonious existence and four lovely cats in which she plays the role of a dutiful minion.

Beau

Beau

Beau the Beagle is quirky, and she is prone to silly tantrums when she doesn’t get her way but is also incredibly fun-loving, sweet, and overall a complete goofball.

She has a collection of 30+ plush toys, most of which she has removed the stuffing and squeakers from, preferring to instead just carry around pieces of scrap material, much to the dismay of her human family.
She loves nothing more than a good game of tug-o-war, walks in the countryside, getting her feet muddy, and attempting to make friends with all the neighbourhood cats who are not as invested in forging such relationships.
This is probably in part to her thinking she’s a cat, as she loves to rub her head against people’s legs and faces, in much the same way as a cat would to show affection.

A lockdown puppy, she’s still learning to socialise with the world and is becoming braver as time goes on and she gets to have new, fun experiences. She can be quite apprehensive at first but has a lot of perseverance in seeing things through. She’s a clever girl who has quickly learnt to do many things her humans wish she wouldn’t (such as knowing how to open closed doors), and she would much rather attempt to get out of doing something rather than listening, but she can usually be persuaded with the reward of treats and lots of praise for a job well done.

Beau is also attuned to others’ emotions and is quick to snuggle up and cuddle anyone having a bad day, even if she’s not the lap dog she thinks she is. At her heart, she’s a people pleaser and just wants to do a good job. She loves seeing people happy and making them laugh, and brings a lot of sunshine into the lives of her family.
