The Stevie Awards for Women in Business honor women executives, entrepreneurs, employees, and the companies they run– worldwide. The Stevie Awards have been hailed as the world’s premier business awards. Nicknamed the Stevies for the Greek word for “crowned,” the awards were presented to winners last night during a dinner event attended by more than 550 people at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City.
Sarah had 30 seconds on stage to sum what her work means to her:
They say “never work with children or animals” My work allows me to do both. I was a burnt out teacher, whose heart would break when my students felt disconnected from their community due to learning difficulties, mental health issues or trauma. I run a company that brings therapy dogs into schools to encourage at risk kids to love learning. To my team, my mentors and my husband, I thank you. What we do works and it makes a difference. If you have a passion for education always seek innovative solutions to reconnect kids with learning.
Canine Comprehension prides itself on making sure our programs have rigour, value and supported by current evidence The Stevie Awards for Women in Business award contributes to our focus of professionalism and quality at every turn.
