A day of fun, hands-on learning with impact: Dog for a Day at schools

Our therapy dog teams love visiting schools for Dog for a Day as it allows us to integrate into your school community, reach more students, and share the joys of dog-assisted learning.

Choose your focus area for the sessions (e.g., communication, friendship, safe animal handling, mindfulness, or another topic that you’d like to designate) and we’ll plan unique, engaging sessions targeted to your students or staff. This is a flexible option that can be booked as a single incursion or a recurring program throughout the term or year.

Dog for a Day at schools is an effective way to:

  • Reach more students across your school with our evidence-based approach to animal-assisted learning.
  • Reward and celebrate students’ achievements with an engaging incursion.
  • Boost motivation for students.
  • Ease anxiety for students, especially during challenging times such as exams.
  • Strengthen community cohesion among students and staff.
  • Make progress towards designated focus areas (such as social-emotional learning).
  • Introduce the concept of therapy dogs in schools, or supplement your ongoing programs with us.

Book a full day (6 hours) or half day (3 hours) as a single event or a recurring, weekly program throughout the term or year for maximum impact.

Support staff wellbeing: Dog for a Day for employees in schools, offices, and workplaces

Plus, having one of our therapy dogs visit is always a highlight!

What people are saying about our dog therapy programs…

Canine comprehension was such a brilliant program for our students they thrived on having Cooper during the day at school as it made something to look forward to if they were having a bad morning. Samantha was brilliant !!!!! She was such a great educator and really made a point of getting to know the children which made such a beautiful impact

St Thomas More Hadfield

My daughter started sessions in 2020 when she had a massive spike in her anxiety. The canine comprehension sessions quickly became a highlight of her week and really helped reduce her anxiety. She has always loved dogs and so these sessions are perfect to help her recover from a stressful week.

Really helped my anxious daughter
