Communication on the Inside & out

In this program, we teach students the art of effective communication, including verbal and non-verbal cues. We explore body language, facial expressions, tone of voice, and inner voice management, shifting from negativity to positivity.

Friendship & Responsibility

Social and emotional learning (SEL) can help students learn the skills needed to build resilience. It can help them learn to manage emotions, behaviour and relationships with others. It gives students opportunities to learn and practice social skills.

Embrace the Change

This program aligns with the DET Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR). It helps students develop social, emotional, and positive relationship skills. We work with students their teachers to foster connections and happiness in the learning environment.

Transition from Primary to Secondary

This program teaches for well-being by assisting students in navigating uncertainties and anxieties. Resilience and overcoming challenges are pivotal in building their social and emotional skills, ensuring a successful transition from primary to secondary school.

A non-judgmental program for participants to process feelings of grief and loss. Animal Assisted Intervention helps them process their emotions and allows them space to grow.

Individual Mentoring

(All prices include GST)

A therapy dog and a mentor will work with an individual throughout the term. Through weekly attendance, young people may have more positive feelings about themselves and school.

Individual sessions focus on learning goals. Goals are created by the parent/guardian before the commencement of the mentoring and give the direction the mentor will take.

We are committed to empowering young people with the skills and tools that foster inner certainty to navigate the world confidently.

Bookings, cancellation & pricing policy

Booking confirmation, late fees and further action

  • Bookings are confirmed upon receiving session times.
  • Cancellation may incur a 20% administration fee of the original booking cost.
  • Outstanding accounts may be transferred to debt recovery professionals or may initiate legal action.
  • Legal costs will be added to the outstanding amount.
  • Additional charges for interest, recovery, and legal expenses may be sought and awarded by the court if the account remains unpaid.
  • Our bookings are ongoing to build trust and provide maximum benefit. To stop services, email admin@caninecomprehension.com.au with 24 hours’ notice.

Cancellation policy

  • Please attend scheduled appointments as arranged.
  • Makeup sessions are scheduled for public holidays.
  • School & Library Programs: Cancellations require a two-week notice. We will attempt to reschedule; however, if not possible, the session will be forfeited.
  • Individual Mentoring: Cancellations of services require a 1-week notice. Late fees may apply if notice is not given in time. Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Failure to do so will result in the total session fee being charged.

Rescheduling/Change of session

  • Please notify us at least 24 hours in advance to reschedule your appointment. Failure to do so will result in the total session fee being charged.
  • We cannot guarantee that a change will be possible due to mentor availability.
  • If rescheduling is viable, a $22.00 Flexi charge will apply to cover administration costs.

Late arrivals

  • Please arrive on time so you can maximize your session. If you arrive more than 30 minutes late, your session will be forfeited and charged.

Re-engagement policy

  • Clients seeking to resume services will be placed on our waiting list based on mentor availability. Immediate scheduling is not guaranteed.
