Coming from a very diverse background, from sales to working with Australian wildlife.

I have spent the last 17 years in a Zoo based role connecting diverse audiences, children and families with Australian wildlife. I am passionate about inspiring change and fostering an optimistic culture in connecting children with nature and wildlife. I am truly dedicated and focused on making a difference to young people’s lives.

Through many years’ experience I have been committed to connecting with children to build resilience and trust with an understanding of our natural world in a compassionate way. I have a dedicated focus on safety and welfare of both humans and animals in these interactions.

My focus has been to improve animal welfare and identify the challenges between animal and human interactions. This has led to a greater understanding of animal behaviour and a comprehensive knowledge of human emotions when connected with animals.

I am delighted to be part of this new journey with Canine Comprehension, and am excited to see how Ava and I can support and encourage young minds. The ability to work alongside my dearest companion Ava and to share her inspirational personality to encourage curiosity, is truly a dream come true.

Ava

Ava is an intelligent and gentle natured 2 year old Spoodle. She has a curious nature and loves to investigate any new things. She has a love of squeaky toys and often communicates with them when she is wanting attention.

Ava is a tiny companion and as such seems to really enjoy the company of children and being at their level, whether that be chasing and playing or curling up for a nap together. She loves to chase and fetch the ball, especially if it squeaks, and is always keen to share her love of toys and finds great joy in playing.

Ava lives out on property in the Yarra Valley and will often be seen jumping in the air chasing butterfly’s.

Ava has a special gift when it comes to being Intune with human emotions. She is often by my side and always has a gentle paw or head on my lap when it is most needed, she is a pure delight.
