We’re absolutely thrilled to share that Canine Comprehension has taken home the East Melbourne Local Business Award for Specialised Business for 2025!
This recognition means a great deal to our entire team, our dedicated mentors, and, most importantly, the incredible young people and school communities we support every day. Our therapy dogs play a special role in helping students build confidence, resilience, and well-being. Receiving this award is a testament to the impact of our programs and the trust placed in us by families, schools, and partners across Melbourne.

Winning the Local Business Award is more than a trophy on the shelf. It’s a celebration of our mission: empowering young people through compassionate, evidence-based support and animal-assisted learning. A Night to Remember
The award was presented at The Langham, Melbourne, on 10 September 2025 – a night filled with inspiration, celebration, and connection with other passionate local businesses. CEO, Sarah, Alison, Head of People and Culture and Judy, one of our fantastic Mentors, attended the event. It was so exciting seeing our name announced as the winner; it was a proud moment for everyone involved with Canine Comprehension.
Looking Ahead
This win energises us to keep growing, innovating, and providing the highest standard of support to young people. We’re excited for what’s next, from expanding our programs into more schools to welcoming new therapy dogs and mentors to the team.
